About

Linda Ward

Linda Ward is a seasoned healthcare executive with 42 years of experience leading organizations across acute, long-term, and hospice care. As the president and CEO of Gulfside Healthcare Services, Inc., a position she has held for over 22 years, Linda is responsible for the overall operations, strategic planning, and clinical integrity of an $82 million non-profit organization. Under her guidance, the company has grown to serve more than 1,000 patients daily, with a dedicated workforce of 520 employees committed to delivering high-quality medical care, holistic support, and pain management to patients navigating illness, post-hospitalization recovery, and end-of-life care.

Over the years, Linda has built a reputation for strengthening both the organizations she leads and the communities they serve. Throughout her career, she has guided strategic growth, sales, marketing, and operations while helping organizations adapt to evolving patient needs and an ever-changing industry. At Gulfside, she has championed campus expansions, outreach initiatives, and digital infrastructure improvements to better support underserved, underinsured, and uninsured populations, as well as the continued learning and well-being of her expert, dedicated team. And today, her leadership continues to be guided by a fourfold strategy: expanding community awareness and access, diversifying healthcare options, strengthening partnerships across healthcare industries, and nurturing a workplace where talented professionals can thrive.

Linda’s journey into healthcare leadership is anchored in her profound desire to serve others, a goal reflected in her childhood aspiration to become a nurse and in the focus of her academic career. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and a Master’s degree in Social Work with a healthcare leadership track from Aurora University. Her later work experience, including a decade at ManorCare, not only taught her the business and leadership sides of healthcare, but also laid the foundation for her leadership philosophy. It’s a sense of purpose that has held true since she became a CEO 22 years ago: To remain humble, inspire creativity, and drive success within those she leads through passion, integrity, and service.

A respected voice in the healthcare industry, Linda frequently speaks at national and local events on topics including leadership, organizational management, financial recovery, customer loyalty, marketing, Alzheimer’s disease, hospice, and palliative care. Her expertise has earned her prominent board roles across several organizations, including serving as past Board President and current Executive Committee member of the Florida Hospice and Palliative Care Association. She also lends her insights to the Florida Home Care Association Board and the YMCA Board.

While Linda approaches her workdays with the same discipline and energy that have defined her 42-year career, her weekends are strictly for self-care. Whether she’s spending time with family and friends over long weekends, volunteering in her community, or training for her next marathon, a sport she got into at age 50, she is constantly finding ways to lead with intention and make every day count.
